Most healthcare analytics incorporates some combination of reporting, doctor-designed rules, basic regression analysis, and on occasion, neural-net training. This merely generates an alternate view of existing data based on already-established rules and guidelines: no new insights are discovered.

By shifting the focus to complex data exploration, we will discover patterns, and uncover “hidden” information that not only leads to new insights about history, but also allows us to predict correlation and identify potential courses of action: we generate the “Ah ha!” moments.
